Five Websites and Counting
People often ask me if I enjoy my work. The short answer is, “Yes!”
In the long answer I tell people that this is my third career. I was in Accounting for twelve years. Then I was a Data Analyst for three years. Then I found Website Development and I haven’t looked back since!
What REALLY convinces people that I love my job is when I tell them I have five websites. Five? Yes, five!
- http://www.perryweb.com – This is my business website.
- http://www.perryweb.com/Dickens – When I was making the switch from Accounting I started a small Charles Dickens site as a class project. It grew from there.
- http://www.siracd.com – I was having so much fun with my Charles Dickens site that I started a website on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
- http://www.litquotes.com – I started to notice that one of the favorite features on my author websites was the quotations section. Why not have an entire site devoted just to quotations? Why not indeed.
- http://www.beetleeyes.com - Blogging looked like a lot of fun so I decided to give it a whirl! It’s also a great excuse to use my digital camera. I had so much fun on BeetleEyes that I decided to add a blog to PerryWeb.com.
Now I only have one little problem – deciding on my sixth site. I have two website ideas. One is for another quotations site. The other is a historical site. Hmmmmm . . . . which to build first?
Do I like my job? You bet I do!
