Old Computer Conundrum
Your old computer, the boat anchor as you fondly call it, served you well in its day. Sadly that day was long ago. You’ve moved on and have a lovely new computer. And yet the old one lingers on. Maybe it’s in the corner of the office under a pile of books. Maybe it’s in the basement. Maybe it’s taken up residence in the garage. The point is that you want to get rid of your old computer. You need to get rid of it.
But where do you take it?
Computers, computer monitors and other electrical equipment contain dangerous chemicals like mercury, lead and cadmium. Therefore it’s best to take them to people who specialize in these things. Here’s a list of computer/electronics recyclers in the Seattle area:
One final word of caution, be sure to totally erase any and all personal information on your computer before you donate or recycle it.
