Starting with version 2.6 WordPress has a “Turbo” option.  What in the world is that?  It’s something that folks with slower Internet connections are going to love!

The Turbo function in WordPress uses a technology called Gears.  Gears is software developed by Google that allows website browsers to run website applications offline.  In other words, Gears will replicate some of the online functionality of WordPress on your home computer.  For people with dial-up connections this means that WordPress just became a lot faster and easier to use.

In WordPress 2.7 the Turbo button is located at the top right of your screen.
