Don’t be shocked, but I’ve been investigating another website host.  I still adore HostMySite.  The thing is that I’m working on a project that has made me ask the question, “How would I coach a customer through a WordPress installation?”

Installing WordPress involves FTP, zipped files, installing a MySQL database and altering a configuration file.  It’s not something for novices.

That led me to BlueHost.  They have a one-step WordPress install system that works wonderfully.  I’ve even spoken with their technical support department and found them to be genuinely knowledgeable and helpful.  (Sadly, this isn’t always the case with the staff at hosting companies.)

BlueHost also has a file mangement system that allows people to get new templates.   It even helps people unzip the template files.

And while I do tell people to make hosting decisions based on quality and not cost, I can’t help but notice that BlueHost is about half the cost of HostMySite.

BlueHost, they’re worth a look.
