WordPress 2.9 is in development.  There’s an impressive list of new features.  What am I most excited about?  I can’t wait to see the new image editor!

If we’ve ever had a coaching session, I’m sure you’ve heard my speech on the evils of large photos.  Current versions of WordPress have tools that make photos look smaller without actually reducing the file size.  That is very, very bad.  One of my customers had about five of these gargantuan files on the home page of her blog.  It was a slow, slow page to load.

Early reports of the new photo editor look very promising. I’ll keep you posted as I hear updates.
